California Citrus Tree
AgriLogic Consulting in cooperation with California Citrus Mutual has developed a California Citrus Tree Insurance Program that has been approved for implementation by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Board under Section 508(h) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act. The program is available for all insurable citrus trees in Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Madera, Stanislaus, Glenn, Fresno, Tulare, Kern, Riverside, and Ventura Counites in California beginning with the 2021 crop year. Producers must submit an application for coverage on or before the November 1, 2020 sales closing date.
The California Citrus Tree Program is patterned after other tree-based dollar amount of insurance programs and provides coverage for young trees four years and less after set-out, specifically addressing freeze, fire, and failure of irrigated water supply.
