Apple Trees
The Apple Tree Insurance Program developed by AgriLogic was approved on June 5, 2019, by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Board of Directors under Section 508(h) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act for implementation. The Apple Tree Program first became available for the 2021 crop year in all major apple producing counties in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York.
Program changes have been approved for the 2026 crop year that the details of will be released in 2025 prior to the April 2025 sale closing date for the 2026 crop year. The most signification enhancement will be a change to the unit structure on the Apple Tree program has been simplified to more align with the Apple Fruit Actual Production History (APH) crop insurance program. This modification was made in response to industry requests to simplify participation in the program for apple growers and to simplify the program administration for crop insurance industry personnel.
AgriLogic has worked closely with apple tree growers and other industry personnel to develop and maintain the program. The program developed by AgriLogic is a tree-based dollar amount insurance with liability being established on a per tree basis.
