Pomegranates

The Pomegranate Crop Insurance Program developed by AgriLogic Consulting was approved by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Board of Directors on August 18, 2022. Pomegranates are a high value tree fruit crop predominately grown in the San Joaquin Valley of California. This insurance program will provide pomegranate producers in major California pomegranate producing counties with a federally subsidized yield-based risk management tool covering natural causes of loss such as frost during bloom and excess precipitation during fruit maturation. Coverage is based on a producer’s actual production history (APH). APH crop insurance programs are currently available for a number of other crops in the same region including almonds, citrus, olives, and pistachios.
