Grapevine

The Grapevine Insurance Program has been approved by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation for implementation in select counties in CA, ID, MI, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX and WA. The policy protects vineyards against death of grafted vines due to freeze, hail, flood, fire, and failure of the irrigation water supply.

Industry representatives in key production regions requested a product to protect vineyards against vine death caused primarily by freeze and fire. The Grapevine Insurance Program was approved by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation for implementation in 91 counties across 9 U.S. states.

The policy protects grafted vines only against vine death due to freeze, hail, flood, fire, and failure of the irrigation water supply (if caused by an unavoidable naturally occurring event during the insurance period).

To learn more about the Grapevine Insurance program, a training video is provided below. For additional questions or to purchase a policy, contact your local crop insurance agent. If you do not have an agent, you may locate one on the USDA RMA’s website.
